Sister Hebatallah Azmy, also known as Sister Heba, has been teaching in a variety of settings for the past 6 years. The last 4 years have been in an Islamic School setting, where she also served as the school’s IT Coordinator. Sister Hebatallah graduated Magna Cum Laude from The American University in Cairo with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Business Administration. While working on her thesis, she also worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for a Software Engineering course at AUC. That was when she discovered her passion for teaching. Sister Hebatallah is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Special Education (Dyslexia Specialist concentration) as well as PA teaching certification and looks forward to graduating in May 2019, in sha’ Allah.
Sister Hebatallah is also a certified Wilson Dyslexia Therapist who believes in the supreme importance of literacy. She is passionate about instilling a love of learning, particularly reading and writing, in her students at a young age and encourages them to build on that foundation throughout their learning experiences to ensure future success. She firmly believes that today’s Muslim students are tomorrow’s future leaders and makes it her mission to contribute to the upbringing of strong, independent, responsible, assertive future Muslim leaders who have a strong moral compass and work ethic and who follow in the footsteps of the Prophet (SAWS) while always keeping Allah and His teachings in their heart.
Sister Hebatallah is notorious for her strong, long-lasting relationships with her students and their parents as well as her love of reading and lifelong learning. She is well travelled, has travelled to over 50 countries, and looks forward to covering the rest in the future, in sha’ Allah. She has been married for eleven years and her life revolves around her family including her two incredible children who she’s adamant on upbringing in a healthy Muslim environment.
Sr. Hebatallah looks forward to working with Iqra Academy where she can continue to serve the Muslim youth and watch them grow into the incredible adults they are meant to be.
