Sr. Suhaylah Stewart – 1st Grade Teacher

Sr. Suhaylah Stewart brings more than 20 years of experience working with children and a deep passion for creating meaningful learning experiences that nurture children academically, socially, and spiritually. She holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Harcum College and studied Elementary Education and Special Education at Drexel University.

Her professional experience includes more than 15 years in childcare, including serving as a Childcare Center Director, giving her extensive experience in early childhood development, classroom leadership, and supporting the individual needs of young learners. She also served for three years as a Director and Coordinator of an Islamic summer camp, leading programs for more than 100 children each summer and creating opportunities for children to learn, build friendships, develop leadership skills, and strengthen their Islamic identity.

Sr. Suhaylah is in her fifth year at IQRA Academy, where she has had the opportunity to work with students across the elementary grades. She especially enjoys helping young learners build strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, and critical thinking while encouraging their natural curiosity, confidence, and love of learning.
As a passionate student of Islamic knowledge, Sr. Suhaylah believes that educators must remain lifelong learners. Her study of the Arabic language abroad and her continued service to the Muslim community have strengthened her commitment to sharing beneficial knowledge and nurturing the next generation.

As a Muslim educator, Sr. Suhaylah believes education extends beyond academics. She strives to help children recognize their abilities as blessings from Allah and develop the knowledge, character, confidence, and compassion to use those blessings in meaningful ways. She is honored to continue serving IQRA Academy students and families.
